The Part‑Time Librarian will deliver dynamic, high‑quality library services to support the academic and cultural needs of the campus community. This role emphasizes fostering inclusivity and equity in a learning‑centered environment. Under the direction of the Director of Library Services, responsibilities include cataloging of print, non‑print, and electronic resources; providing reference and information services; liaison with faculty, and other projects as assigned.
Responsibilities- Basic cataloging duties for print, electronic and other types of materials, including creating and updating bibliographic records consistent with Library of Congress Classification.
- Deliver in‑person and virtual reference services to students, faculty, staff, and community patrons; providing frontline technology support and assistance with library software/hardware systems.
- Design and lead information literacy instruction sessions across multiple formats (in‑person, online, hybrid). This can include developing, updating, and managing digital learning resources, including research guides and tutorials.
- Collaborate on collection development for print and electronic resources.
- Partner with library staff to maintain and enhance the library website and online platforms.
- Undertake special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Director of Library Services.
- Master’s degree from an ALA‑accredited school.
- Knowledge of basic cataloging standards for print, electronic, and other material types.
- Academic library experience desirable.
- Experience with basic cataloging standards in academic libraries for print, electronic, and other material types.
- Experience in library instruction, classroom teaching, or workshop facilitation.
- Proficiency in adopting emerging technologies and digital tools.
- Familiarity with platforms such as OCLC, Sirsi Dynix, Canvas, Lib Guides, or multimedia editing software (e.g., Kaltura, Adobe Premiere).
- Flexible, innovative, and excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
