Student Worker – Waubonsee Works (Off Campus)

Waubonsee Works Paid Work Experiences (PWEs) are funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act in conjunction with the Kane County Office of Community Reinvestment. All applicants must be certified Waubonsee Works participants to be considered for these positions. PWEs are intended to provide Waubonsee Works participants with relevant industry work experience that will increase employability, improve soft skills, and allow exploration of their most interested career paths.

Paid Work Experiences last 12 weeks, with a maximum of 20 hours per week, and pay between $13 and $16 per hour. Participating companies and departments will accommodate students’ schedules; however, participants are expected to arrive on time and appropriately attired for each scheduled shift of their PWE. Financial assistance is available to help cover the costs of attire and transportation.

Participants will be required to assist in Waubonsee Work events and workshops as directed by their Advisors and are expected to maintain passing grades in their classes during the experience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a current participant of the Waubonsee Works Program. The application for the program can be found at https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). That application must be accepted prior to continuing this application for a PWE.
  • Ability to follow directions and pay close attention to details.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
