Part-time Adjunct Faculty – Sugar Grove Campus

Our Adjunct Faculty play a vital role in delivering high-quality instruction and fostering a dynamic learning environment.

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning. Courses may be offered in various delivery modes including face‑to‑face, asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and flex.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Adjunct Faculty prepare course syllabi and design lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to address different learning styles and ensure that students successfully meet course objectives and outcomes. Faculty also incorporate learning‑centered principles and concepts, motivate students to actively participate, and provide leadership in program promotion and student success initiatives.

• AUT 232 Advanced Brakes and Suspension Systems – Mondays and Wednesdays 3:00 pm – 5:45 pm
• AUT 243 Advanced Engine Control Systems – Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00 pm – 5:45 pm

• Design syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to meet the established course description and learning outcomes while addressing diverse learner needs.
• Meet all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and data collection for assessment of student learning.
• Incorporate learning‑centered principles and concepts while motivating students to actively participate in educational experiences.
• Integrate instructional and classroom technology appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.
• Work collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.
• Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain a student evaluation routine including attendance verification, academic progress, and final course grades.

• Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology or related field and/or industry certification(s) with 4,000 hours of work‑related experience in the field (minimum requirement).
• Preferred experience includes:
• Automatic Transmissions/Transaxles
• Engine Service and Advanced Engine Control Systems
• Automotive Power Trains
• Previous classroom experience
• Recent industry experience
• Experience teaching traditionally underserved populations
• Experience teaching in multiple instructional modalities
• Experience utilizing Learning Management Systems
