Job Overview

Waubonsee Community College promotes diversity in faculty, staff, and student recruitment and is committed to hiring and retaining exceptional faculty and staff who are committed to the college’s culture of collaboration, professional growth, and student success.

Workforce Trainers provide skills-based training and experiences in a traditional or non-traditional classroom setting and/or lab environment. The instruction provided will be specific to participants enrolled in Workforce Education offerings across the career continuum, including, but not limited to, career starters, career changes, and those seeking career advancement.

Local employers frequently engage with the college to address specific professional development needs on behalf of their workforce; customized solutions are then designed and delivered in a variety of modalities to best serve the employees. The demand for tailored curriculum fluctuates; therefore, the need for a specific skillset may not be immediate. Waubonsee’s Workforce Education department frequently keeps resumes on file based on talent and may reach out should a request arise that aligns with the applicant’s area of expertise.

The qualified trainer will be able to participate in training needs assessment using various techniques, conduct interactive and engaging training (at multiple sites around the region) for individuals, groups, and companies using alternative and non‑traditional methodologies appropriate and effective for working with adult learners, work with the Workforce Education Program Manager to prepare and/or select education materials, and assist with the development and/or evaluation of new curricula and program designs.
