Overview

Part‑time Adjunct Faculty at Waubonsee Community College located on the Sugar Grove Campus. The college promotes diversity, collaboration, professional growth and student success. Adjunct faculty play a vital role in delivering high‑quality instruction and fostering a dynamic learning environment.

• Design syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments and assessments that meet the established course description and program learning outcomes, addressing the needs of diverse learners.
• Deliver curriculum, provide instruction, and perform student learning assessment.
• Use instructional and classroom technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning; courses may be offered in traditional, hybrid, or other delivery modes (the college does not accept fully remote instructors).
• Meet all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and data collection for assessment of student learning.
• Collaborate with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community, modeling professionalism with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

• COM 100:
  Fundamentals of Speech – 16‑week, traditional face‑to‑face, 8:00‑9:15 a.m., Tuesdays/Thursdays; hybrid and face‑to‑face options also available.
• MCM 140:
  Television/Media Production – 12:30‑2:10 p.m., Tuesdays/Thursdays.

Master's degree in Communications or a related field with 18 graduate hours in Communications.

• Teaching Communications or a related field at a community college or vocational/technical institution.
• Experience teaching traditionally underserved populations.
• Integration of technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learning processes.
• Teaching in multiple instructional modalities and utilizing learning management systems.
