This position will cover NW Indiana and Illinois, and also shop time when warranted.

  • Conduct on-site equipment inspections and maintenance at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues in the field and perform necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with Service Manager to schedule and prioritize field service calls.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
  • Builds knowledge of dealer supported product lines, service standards, and procedures and keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributor
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment while working in the field.
  • Maintain remote parts inventory.
  • Willingness for overnight travel including some multi-day events.
  • Willing to take an active role in acquiring new business opportunities in AOR
  • Act as ambassador of the company with customers

Essential

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years working in a full-time technician/mechanic role on heavy duty chassis.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical experience
  • Welding/cutting torch experience
  • Excellent skills in communication, interpersonal, organizational and attention to detail
  • Working usage of MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement.

Desirable

Qualifications:

  • Direct industry experience
  • Class B CDL

ADA Requirements:

  • Typically sits, grasp items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly
  • Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 40 lbs occasionally, >20 lbs frequently
  • Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards
  • Travel by air or car occasionally

Wage:

  • $26-40/hr
  • Compensation can vary based on factors like skills, experience, and internal pay equity.
