Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Sugar Land, Texas in a fully onsite environment. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who brings strong full-cycle accounts payable experience and can quickly help manage a high volume of invoice processing. The person in this role will support timely payment activities, maintain accurate coding and documentation, and contribute to keeping accounts payable operations organized and efficient.

Responsibilities:

- Process a large volume of invoices from receipt through final payment while ensuring accuracy and completeness.

- Review invoice details, assign proper account coding, and verify supporting documentation before entry.

- Manage full-cycle accounts payable activities, including matching purchase orders, entering invoices, and preparing payments.

- Execute payment activities through ACH transactions and check runs in accordance with internal timelines.

- Use SAP to record, track, and reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve processing issues.

- Partner with internal teams to address invoice discrepancies, missing information, and approval delays.

- Help reduce outstanding invoice backlog by prioritizing aged items and maintaining consistent follow-through.

- Support compliance with company policies and audit requirements by maintaining organized payment records. Requirements

- Hands-on experience in full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing through payment completion.

- Proficiency with account coding and the ability to enter invoices accurately in a high-volume setting.

- Experience handling ACH payments and coordinating regular check runs.

- Working knowledge of SAP for accounts payable or related financial processing tasks.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

- Strong organizational and time management skills in a deadline-driven environment.
