Main tasks and responsibilities

Project Controlling plays a crucial role in ensuring that the company’s projects are completed on time, on budget and within scope, while monitoring, projects risks and opportunities as well as related cash flow status. The role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with knowledge and capacity to drive implementation of key project controlling and project management best practices, aided by close partnership with the project management team.

Core Activities

Track life cycle of the entity’s projects from the quotation phase to the project set-up in SAP (Define Revenue Recognition Scheme, Project builder and Sales Orders, Billing Plan), through execution and closure of the warranty period.

Lead Monthly Project Reviews with the Execution Team to assess:

  • the actual progress of projects compared to previous forecasts and expectations
  • the evolution of contract value and variation orders
  • the evolution of estimated costs at completion (including incremental or savings on budget)
  • any other risks and opportunities (Specific Warranty Costs, Liquidated Damages, etc.)

Establish and ensure issuance of project invoices according to the Billing Plan.

Partner with Credit Risk team to steer project cash collection and monitor execution towards project cash-in target.

Support month-end close processes, including result analysis for Work In Progress (WIP) calculations on projects, project settlements, and forecasting activities.

Close Percentage of Completion (POC) contracts in SAP on an ongoing basis.

Prepare and submit periodic Project status reports, including calculations of margins, estimated cost to complete, and estimated margins, to management to enable informed decision-making.

Partner closely with Project Managers and administrative teams to improve reporting and implement new processes and procedures.

Support inquiries and present to C-suite, as needed.

Education and professional experience

Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Management Engineering.

At least 8 years as Project Cost Controlling, including accounting for Construction Contracts.

Deep knowledge of
  • MS Office (including, excel, PowerPoint, project tools)
  • SAP Project Systems
  • Outlook

Familiarity with ISO quality systems, and EHS regulations.

Experience analyzing financial details, including top-level business performance.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
