Position SummaryThe Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness, establishing and maintaining credit limits, minimizing financial risk, and supporting the company's cash flow objectives. This role works closely with Accounts Receivable, Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams to ensure sound credit decisions while supporting business growth. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, sound business judgment, and a customer-focused approach to credit and collections management.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Review and analyze customer financial statements, credit reports, and trade references.
- Evaluate new customer credit applications and recommend appropriate credit limits.
- Monitor existing customer accounts and adjust credit limits as necessary.
- Assess credit risk and identify potential collection concerns.
- Maintain accurate customer credit files and supporting documentation.
- Partner with Accounts Receivable and Collections teams to resolve disputes impacting payment performance.
- Review aging reports and assist in mitigating delinquency risks.
- Prepare credit reviews and recommendations for management approval.
- Monitor customer payment trends and proactively identify high-risk accounts.
- Support order release decisions in accordance with company credit policies.
- Communicate credit decisions professionally to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Provide collection support by managing an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, including following up on past-due invoices, resolving payment disputes, documenting collection activities, and escalating high-risk accounts as needed.
- Assist with collection efforts during periods of reduced credit analysis workload to support departmental cash flow objectives and maintain customer account health.
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to balance risk management with customer relationship objectives.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in credit analysis, accounts receivable, financial analysis, or commercial collections.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and credit risk assessment.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Net Suite preferred) and credit reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of commercial credit practices and policies.
