- Perform patient check‑in and check‑out functions and appointment scheduling.
- Execute more complex scheduling and department protocols, and mentor less experienced staff.
- Support timely and accurate claims submission, including registration and revenue‑cycle functions.
- Provide general operations assistance and patient‑service tasks specific to the department.
- Contribute to a positive work environment and collaborate with all team members.
- Coordinate patient flow with consistency, timeliness, and skill while reporting issues.
- Act as a role model and next‑level resolution source for problems.
- Use excellent communication skills to provide high‑quality service to patients, physicians, and staff.
- Respond promptly to requests and handle urgent situations per protocol.
- Assist with reports and department correspondence.
- Serve as liaison for patient, medical staff, and third parties regarding access and quality matters.
- Enter patient and operational data accurately and promptly.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Accurately record information for charge entry, registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and authorizations.
- Manage front‑end revenue‑cycle duties and educate patients on billing processes.
- Prioritize work efficiently and support inventory management.
- Suggest improvements to streamline processes and enhance patient flow.
- Pursue continuous learning beyond baseline competencies.
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, homeschool equivalency).
- Five years of experience, including at least three years in a related healthcare role.
- Demonstrated competencies and performance evaluations.
- Proficient English speaking, reading, and writing.
- Effective communication with patients, physicians, and coworkers.
- Strong customer service, phone and scheduling skills.
- Basic computer skills, including electronic medical record usage.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and revenue‑cycle components.
- Analytical problem‑solving ability.
