Production Manager – Paper Bag Manufacturing

The Production Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the paper bag manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, high-quality, productive, and cost-efficient performance. This role leads a high-performing team, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates across departments to meet strategic business goals. The Production Manager reports to the Plant Manager and supports operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations including production, quality control, maintenance, and materials handling.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety throughout the facility.
- Monitor and report on plant performance metrics including productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and enhance overall plant performance.
- Oversee inventory and materials management to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Collaborate with commercial and sales teams to support facility growth and maintain key customer relationships.
- Develop and implement business plans aligned with company goals and strategic direction.
- Coordinate with quality teams to ensure production efficiency, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage capital planning and implementation, including equipment upgrades and facility improvements.
- Maintain budgetary control and manage headcount to meet operational needs.
- Build and lead a diverse, accountable, and high-performing team.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-7 years of progressive management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in operations/production management, including budget and financial oversight.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, raw materials, quality control, and distribution.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead transformative change and build high-performing teams.
- Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to various audiences.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a customer-first approach and ability to respond quickly to changing demands.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
