We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner with an interest in gastroenterology to join our outpatient team. Our team of experienced professionals works together to ensure patient-centered care in the field of gastroenterology.
Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on‑site role for a Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner rotating among our locations of Houston, Richmond and Sugar Land. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, managing patients with gastrointestinal conditions, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals. Daily tasks include conducting patient assessments, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, prescribing medications, and maintaining patient records. The role also involves educating patients on preventive care and managing ongoing treatment plans.
RoleResponsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive GI‑focused evaluations and follow‑ups
- Collaborate closely with gastroenterologists on diagnostic and treatment plans
- Perform and interpret relevant labs, imaging, and follow‑up care
- Document encounters using EMR and maintain clear, timely records
- Educate patients on procedures, treatments, and long‑term GI management
- Support care coordination, especially for chronic GI conditions
- Masters Degree in Nursing or related field
- Certified and Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Texas
- No prior malpractice
- Certification in Family Practice or Adult‑Gastroenterology
- Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine experience preferred (but not required)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical‑thinking skills
- Compassionate, team‑oriented approach
- Fluency in medical Spanish is a strong plus
