Join to apply for the Logistic Manager role at Accredo Packaging, Inc.. Accredo Packaging is seeking a seasoned Logistics Manager to lead and elevate the API Group logistics team. This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, fostering team cohesion, and aligning logistics strategies with broader company goals. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in domestic and international freight, a strategic mindset, and a collaborative approach to cross-functional communication.
To lead API Group logistics team, the manager will seek to improve, support, guide the team to efficiencies and cohesion while communicating with other departments to ensure alignment with company goals.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Logistics Coordinators in their responsibilities for both Domestic and International Shipments while ensuring workload balance.
- Develop long-term strategies to improve logistics operations, focusing on cost efficiency, delivery times, and customer service.
- Oversee RFP process for Domestic and International shipments and help negotiate ocean freight rates while mentoring Logistics Coordinators on negotiations.
- Analyze current logistics processes for inefficiencies and implement new procedures and technologies to streamline operations.
- Develop strategies for warehousing, distribution, and material handling.
- Manage relationships with 3PLs and coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Work closely with other departments to enhance overall internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Analyze annual freight spend and continuously seek cost savings.
- Develop and use KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure logistics performance and prepare regular reports on operational metrics for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. Develop risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
- Education:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree - Experience:
15+ years of combined experience in Domestic and International Freight - Skills:
Excel, Organization, Management, Multi-tasking, Critical Thinking, Planning
- Proven experience overseeing domestic freight operations, ideally within a manufacturing or packaging environment.
- Strong international logistics background, including import/export compliance and customs management (fees, tariffs, documentation).
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage freight contracts, including spot market strategies and timely contract execution.
- Experience owning the commercial side of freight contracts, with a focus on volume-based negotiations.
- Direct negotiation experience with steamship lines to secure cost-effective transportation solutions and reduce reliance on 3PLs.
- Expertise in container movement logistics.
- Familiarity with bonded warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of Free Trade Zones (FTZ).
- Advanced contract negotiation skills, with a track record of securing competitive pricing and favorable terms.
Location:
The position will be based at the main corporate headquarters in Sugar Land, TX and onsite five days per week. Relocation assistance is available for candidates who reside more than 50 miles from the office.
Salary range:
Houston, TX $90,000.00-$
