Opportunity
CACTI is seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Systems Engineer (Level
2) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud platform management, deployment, and monitoring, with a focus on AWS and Azure. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud service models, microservices architecture, and scripting/automation.
- Manage, deploy, and monitor cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Design and implement microservices architecture within the cloud environment.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools using Python, Power Shell, or Bash to streamline cloud operations.
- Ensure the security and compliance of cloud infrastructure by adhering to best practices and Responsible AI (RAI) policies.
- Manage operating systems (Linux and Windows Server) within the cloud environment.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve cloud‑related issues.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends, including serverless technologies like AWS Lambda and AI cloud tools.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members on cloud‑related projects and initiatives.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM degree is desired. - Experience:
3–5 years of experience in cloud platform management, deployment, and monitoring (AWS, Azure). - Clearance: TS/SCI.
- Good understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and cloud architecture.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Power Shell, or Bash for automation.
- Solid understanding of network concepts such as subnetting, routing, and firewalls.
- Experience managing operating systems like Linux and Windows Server.
- Awareness of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with cloud serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda and AI cloud tools and capabilities.
- Knowledge of Responsible AI (RAI) policies.
- Security+.
- Cloud Practitioner.
- Azure Fundamentals.
- Microsoft Azure Administrator.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of Dev Ops practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation).
