Job Description
Leidos is looking for a talented Microsoft SQL Database Administrator to join our team at the National Maritime Intelligence Center in Suitland, MD. If you hold an active DoD TS/SCI clearance and thrive on solving complex challenges, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Primary Responsibilities- Design, manage, and optimize advanced Microsoft SQL database systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex database issues with precision.
- Implement and maintain security policies, conduct vulnerability analyses, and develop system documentation.
- Partner with network, system, and database administrators to achieve mission‑critical objectives.
- Keep systems secure and current through patches, upgrades, and proactive maintenance.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot problems, and enhance reliability to ensure maximum availability.
- Lead re‑accreditation efforts, including DISA STIG reviews, system upgrades, and vulnerability remediation.
- Communicate effectively across diverse teams, bridging technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years. Equivalent training, certifications, or hands‑on experience may substitute for a degree.
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in SQL Database Administration (SQL 2012 or newer) and Microsoft Server environments (2012 or newer).
- Strong skills in performance monitoring and tuning, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Visio.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with customers and colleagues.
