Description
Leidos is seeking a Computer/Network Support Specialist to ensure the reliability and security of mission‑critical systems and networks. In this role, you’ll maintain infrastructure, troubleshoot outages, and support security authorizations while working in a collaborative, high‑impact environment at our customer site in Suitland, MD.
Primary Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve local area network (LAN) issues, providing timely event notifications.
- Use diagnostic tools (e.g., visual fault locators, Ethernet testers) to maintain optical and copper cabling.
- Image, maintain, and repair end‑user hardware including workstations, phones, and printers.
- Communicate scheduled upgrades and maintenance activities to stakeholders.
- Create and maintain accurate site documentation using Visio.
- Deliver first‑line end‑user support and elevate tickets when necessary.
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent experience, training, or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active IAT Level II DoD Approved 8570 Baseline (e.g., Security+ CE) or the ability to obtain it prior to the start date.
- Active CCNA certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- Proficiency with Cisco configurations (EIGRP, BGP, SNMP, TCP/IP, OSPF, VLANs, VPN, NAT, GRE, IPSEC).
- Experience with packet capture, traffic analysis, and vulnerability remediation.
- Strong understanding of the OSI model and multiprotocol routing (VRF, VPN, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, VPLS).
