Network Engineer at Energy Access Innovations
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization’s network infrastructure across all locations. This role ensures high availability, security, and optimal performance of LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud‑connected systems. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, configure, and support LAN/WAN infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.
- Manage and maintain network hardware, software, and monitoring tools to ensure network reliability and security.
- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose complex issues across all layers of the OSI model.
- Configure and administer firewalls, VPN technologies, and security appliances to safeguard organizational assets.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, patching, and lifecycle replacement projects with minimal impacted users.
- Develop and maintain documentation for network architecture, configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Work closely with the IT Service Desk, Systems Administrators, and Cybersecurity team to resolve escalated incidents and support larger technology initiatives.
- Monitor network performance and capacity, providing recommendations for improvements or expansion.
- Participate in on‑call rotation to support after‑hours issues as needed.
- Ensure alignment with cybersecurity best practices and compliance policies.

- 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience supporting enterprise networks.
- Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless technologies.
- Demonstrated experience with common network platforms (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, Watch Guard, Meraki, Fortinet).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, PRTG, Nagios).
- Knowledge of firewall configuration, security policies, and network segmentation.
- Ability to analyze packet captures and use diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and subnetting.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, Security+, or vendor‑specific certifications.
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- May require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting 25+ lbs, computer work and other physical activities. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
