American Sign Language Interpreter in Sulphur, OK

POSITION SUMMARY:

Focus Interpreting is looking for a skilled American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to serve the Sulphur, OK area. In this role, you will facilitate communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals by providing accurate, real-time interpretation services across various settings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interpret spoken communication to ASL and vice versa for a diverse clientele in medical, educational, or community settings.
• Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and professionalism during all interpretation sessions.
• continually update your knowledge of ASL and English to ensure accurate interpretation.
• Adapt to varying environments and requirements, providing flexible interpretation services according to the needs of the consumers.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and proficiency in English, with excellent communication skills in both.
• Certification as a qualified ASL interpreter is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the nuances of communication within it.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations while ensuring accuracy and clarity in interpretation.
