Control Valve Repair Technician (Exp. Required)

Responsibilities- Perform disassembly and assembly of new control valves including reading and interpreting sales orders and customer data sheets.
- Safely disassemble valves and parts, including:
- Sliding stem valves
- Rotary ball valves
- Rotary butterfly valves
- High‑performance rotary butterfly valves
- Bolted bonnet, gate, globe, and check valves
- Soft‑seated ball valves
- Pressure globe and rotary valves
- Safely disassemble actuators and parts, including:
- Double‑acting pneumatic sliding stem piston actuators
- Double‑acting pneumatic rotary piston actuators
- Single‑acting sliding stem spring and diaphragm actuators
- Single‑acting rotary spring and diaphragm actuators
- Evaluate parts, mark and organize them, and perform chemical solvent cleaning when needed.
- Inspect parts to ensure critical dimensions are met.
- Complete quality control sheets with dates, sign‑offs, and status.
- Maintain compliance with factory and customer requirements.
- Perform machining tasks such as drilling and pinning stems, and polishing flange and sealing surfaces.
- Assemble control valves from repair order instructions, customer reports, and OEM manuals, including calibration of positioners and controllers.
- Install stem packing and attach actuators to valves.
- Set correct valve travel and bench set on actuators.
- Tube up positioners and controllers to the actuator and any accessories.
- Test control valves per applicable code using compressed air, water, and nitrogen, and complete detailed test reports.
- Tube up, calibrate, and troubleshoot pneumatic and digital positioners/controllers.
- Apply to regulators and relief valves including disassembly, spring/orifice/body changes, and set points.
- Tag, seal, and prepare products for shipping, including priming and painting while following safety and waste disposal rules.
- Maintain JHC TCC standards and support colleagues.
- Build and maintain solid internal and external relationships.
- Travel when required and ensure regular attendance.
- 3–5 years in valve repair industry (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of control valves, pneumatic safety systems, rotary valves, industrial regulators, and pneumatic positioners/controllers.
- Ability to read and understand customer data spec sheets for assembly.
- Proficiency with hand and pneumatic tools.
- Self‑directed work in field/shop environment.
- Experience with bending and running tubing (preferred).
- Capability to record measurements using torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, tape measures, and scales.
- TWIC, OSHA safety, and security passport credentials.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
