Employer Industry: Healthcare Training and Education

• Total stipend of $31,200 distributed over approximately 44 weeks for participation in both remote learning and hands‑on internship/externship training
• Eligible for monthly Health Marketplace reimbursement up to $600 for 44 weeks (participant cost only)
• Internet stipend of $35/month for 44 weeks
• Comprehensive training in medical billing and coding, with certification opportunities upon successful completion
• Gain practical experience in a supportive learning environment tailored to federally qualified health centers (FQHCs)
• Opportunity to develop skills in a high‑demand field with potential for future employment

• Provide efficient and effective coding services in accordance with payer requirements and organizational policies
• Abstract clinical data from patient medical records for accurate code assignment of diagnoses and procedures
• Assist with research for denied claims and communicate with providers to obtain necessary information
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, payers, and other stakeholders

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card holder
• Ability to pass a national criminal background check successfully
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Power Point

• Bilingual Spanish speaker
• Familiarity with California billing processes
