Veterinary Clinical Externship at NVA

At NVA Canada’s Summerside Animal Hospital, 3rd and 4th year veterinary students can immerse themselves in a unique externship experience. You will work closely with a supervising veterinarian, enhancing skills in patient histories, physical exams, and surgical procedures. Participants will also have the chance to improve communication skills with team members and clients while practicing exceptional animal care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams

• Create effective treatment plans for various cases

• Assist or observe during surgical procedures

• Manage medical care for patients effectively

• Communicate proficiently with medical staff and clients

Requirements:

• 3rd or 4th year veterinary student status

• Clinical portion of veterinary education completed

• Commitment to excellent animal care

• Willingness to engage in diverse learning experiences

• Ability to adapt and learn in a clinical setting
