Position: CNC Machinist -- Large VTL 3rd Shift

** With our continuing growth, Curtiss Wright is looking to add experienced Machinists to our new, state-of-the-art Summerville, SC (Charleston) facility!

This is a great opportunity for those with a strong CNC machining background and experience with Large Vertical Lathes to join CW’s efforts to support the United States Navy and commercial customers.

* *** Your Challenge:
*** Set up and operate large vertical turret lathes to perform precision machining to tolerances within 0.001
* Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements
* Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
* Select appropriate tooling and materials for each job
* Maintain machines, perform minor repairs, and report mechanical issues to maintenance
* Monitor the machining process and make necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds, and tooling
* Document production and inspection results accurately
* Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
** Your Expertise:
*** High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Completion of a four-year machinist apprenticeship or equivalent is an asset
* Minimum of 3+ years in CNC machines experience operating vertical lathes
* Experience operating Fives/G&L 1600, 2000, and Momentum 2500 is preferred
* Ability to maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level and effectively communicate with others
* Lifting objects weighing 50 pounds to waist height and transporting 10 feet
* Must be a sole US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance#LI-MO1
