Hood Packaging is currently seeking a Tuber Operator for our Summerville, SC facility. This role is responsible for operating and overseeing the tuber machine to ensure production efficiency, product quality, and a safe working environment.
Functional Responsibilities- Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Perform material set‑up and machine pre‑setup to ensure orders start on time and with proper resources.
- Operate and troubleshoot the tuber machine to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Direct the work and training of the crew safely and effectively.
- Communicate all pertinent information regarding the machine, orders, and equipment status to the oncoming shift.
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules, understanding that working safely is a condition of employment.
- Recommend additional training needs of team members to the Supervisor.
- Assist in assuring HACCP, GMPs, Work Instructions, and SQF requirements are followed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required at time of application.
- Must pass the Hood Packaging Lift Truck written and driving test to receive a license.
- Must demonstrate troubleshooting ability to resolve machine and process issues.
- This is a physically demanding position requiring focus and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds or more throughout the shift.
- Ability to work all shifts, including 12‑hour shifts and 7‑day rotating schedules.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Ability to work in hot and cold environments. - Ability to use hands, arms, and legs to operate equipment and perform job duties.
