Job Summary:
The Partnership Development Coordinator works as part of the Development & Marketing Team at Dorchester Paws, directly reporting to the Director of Development & Marketing. This position will play a pivotal role in revenue generation and donor management responsibilities. Day-to-day tasks include, but are not limited to prospecting potential business partners, managing incoming donor phone calls, and the coordination of off-campus fundraising and awareness events.
This role will oversee and execute all event marketing opportunities under the direction of the Director of Development & Marketing.
Essential Functions And Duties:
- Plan, execute, and attend all Dorchester Paws events (with the exception of adoption events coordinated through our FOH team)
- Cultivate a percentage of sales fundraisers with new business partners
- Assist with the planning of signature events, including solicitation of event sponsor ships
- Be aware of annual and monthly revenue goals/needs for events
- Develop partnerships within the community to increase fundraising goals
- Work as the main point of contact for all offsite events (excluding adoption events)
- Assist with outward solicitation within the community, including finding new vendors and building relationships. Additional responsibilities relating to solicitation at the discretion of the Executive Director and Director of Development & Marketing
- Research effective sales strategies with additional emphasis on training and career growth
Work Environment And Expectations:
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods of time.
- Must have reliable transportation to conduct all work in and out of the shelter in Summerville.
- This role requires flexibility and the ability to stand, lift, kneel, crouch, and bend. This job functions inside and outside the shelter, as duties will take place at a variety of locations. Frequent lifting or moving of objects or materials up to 50 lbs may apply.
- Must establish and maintain effective professional relationships with coworkers, other organizations, and the community.
Qualifications:
- Experience in sponsorship sales and account management
- Experience in working within the non-profit space a plus, but not required
- Demonstrated abilities of problem solving and time management skills
- High level of professionalism with strong communication skills. Must be coachable.
- Ability to be flexible with irregular work hours, including weekends and after-hours
- Dependable, stress-tolerant, and able to work around cats and dogs
- Someone with career aspirations that is ready to grind toward a shared goal
