Job Description Summary
The Infusion Nurse in Hollings Clinics, Nexton Infusion Services, reports to the Unit Manager. Under general supervision, the Infusion Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.

Job Description

$4,000 sign on bonus for ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) Certified Nurses & OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)

• Both out of state and/or in state qualify

• Not available for internal hires

• The ONS Certification needs to be obtained prior to signing offer letter.

$2,000 sign on bonus for Non-Certified Nurses

• Both out of state and/or in state qualify

• Not available for internal hires

The Infusion Nurse in Hollings Clinics, Nexton Infusion Services, reports to the Unit Manager. Under general supervision, the Infusion Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.

Minimum Education and Requirements: Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more details.

A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

To transfer a 100 lb. patient that can not assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand.
