Pharmacy Technician II Evenings - Medical Center

Job Description

• Proficient in the use of various pharmacy automation systems and electronic medical record
• Responsible for medication preparation and delivery, including controlled dangerous substances and hazardous medications.
• Responsible for the safe and accurate preparation of non‑sterile and sterile medications according to USP 795, 797 and 800 guidelines.
• Handle hazardous medications according to USP 800 guidelines.
• Follow proper medication safety practices (e.g., look‑alike / sound‑alike, high alert, expiration and recall management, temperature and humidity documentation).
• Assist in training of pharmacy personnel, when appropriate.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail and teamwork.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Active registration with NJ Board of Pharmacy required
• PTCB or NHA (obtained within 6 months of hiring)
