Environmental Aide III OMC

Full-Time Environmental Aide III (Housekeeping Lead)

Atlantic Health is seeking an Environmental Aide III for Overlook Medical Center. Required hours are 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, including every other weekend. Starting rate $20.05/hr.

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment to clean all nursing units, patient rooms (including bathrooms), and all other designated facility areas, including floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture, public bathrooms, offices, etc.
• Checks the EVS cart, ensuring proper chemical supplies are stocked with all bottles properly labeled and dated.
• Ensures paper supplies are stocked sufficiently in all bathrooms.
• Removes trash, brings soiled linens to the soiled linen room, disperses clean linens to patient areas, and cleans linen storage rooms and areas.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio‑hazard materials.
• Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Demonstrates proficiency in personal, patient and team member safety regarding blood‑borne pathogens, needle‑stick prevention, fire safety, bed tracking and discharge communication, hospital codes, lock‑out‑tag‑out procedures, hand washing, patient satisfaction, OSHA regulations, and maintaining records and reports necessary for regulatory compliance.
• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
• Position includes the cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Uses basic computer and electronic technology for email and application navigation.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher‑level staff.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• HS diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Ability to apply elementary math functions.
• Ability to work well under time constraints.
• Must be able to be on feet for all or most of the shift.
• Must regularly be exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat, stand for long periods of time, bend, lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.

• Five (5) years of prior housekeeping experience in a hospital/healthcare environment preferred.
• Previous floor‑care experience preferred.
