American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Specialty Orthopedics position requiring a NJ or compact license and 1 year of experience.

• Work in the Specialty Orthopedics Med/Surg unit of a hospital setting
• Provides perioperative care including pre-operative and postoperative assessments for surgical patients
• Supports completion of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a, 3 days per week
• Floating as needed, including to a sister hospital nearby
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic for charting

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Maintains accurate documentation of the nursing process and patient education
• Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and use of two patient identifiers
• Collaborates with the perioperative team to prioritize and direct patient care
• Promotes a patient- and family-centered care environment while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break
