Overview

Mas Tec Communications Group performs both wireline and wireless communication services on a national scale. We are experts in cell tower construction, RF engineering, broadband fiber optic cable installation, OSP engineering, wireline construction, and emergency maintenance services.

The Drafting Supervisor oversees the drafting team and ensures the production of accurate, high-quality OSP/ISP design plans that meet customer and jurisdictional standards. This role manages workload, distribution, quality control, training, communication across permitting, engineering, and construction teams to support efficient project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and support drafters; assign projects based on deadlines and skill sets
  • Review drawings for technical accuracy, compliance, and constructability
  • Maintain and enforce drafting standards, templates, and QC procedures
  • Track progress, deadlines, and revision cycles to ensure on-time delivery
  • Host weekly production goal meetings to review priorities, capacity, and forecasted work
  • Collaborate with permitting and field engineering to ensure plans meet jurisdictional and field conditions
  • Identify training needs and support team development on software and telecom design standards
  • Communicate risks and blocks, and report drafting metrics such as turnaround time, backlog, and rework
  • Provide support to other internal teams as needed, such as permit packages and traffic control plans
  • Above average attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently
  • Ability to set up and manage CAD drafting and plan preparation standards
  • Ability to read information and instructions, and interpret and analyze content from materials such as technical reports
  • Ability to solve problems that are frequent and unique; a CAD draftsman may need to use creativity and judgment due to frequently changing conditions
  • Ability to complete tasks with latitude to decide what work will be required well in advance of actual activities
Qualifications
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Advanced CAD skills and deep knowledge of OSP/ISP telecom design
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Ability or knowledge of using the following machines, tools, equipment, electronic devices, and software like Excel, Word, Auto Cad, and O-Calc
  • A remote or hybrid setting can be considered

Compensation of a starting pay of $80,000 annually.
