Shift:Thursday - Saturday 6:00am - 6:30pm (12-hour shifts with scheduled breaks; ability to work overtime Monday - Wednesday when needed is a plus)
Pay:$23/hr.
- Pick, pack, and ship a variety of building materials, including mouldings and doors, ensuring accurate tallies and order quantities
- Read and understand pick lists and paperwork
- Use a handheld RF scanner to pick and confirm orders accurately
- Walk and stand for most of a 12-hour shift while moving between pick locations
- Lift, push, and pull material bundles that typically weigh 10-20 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Stack and organize moulding and lumber in racks or staging areas to maintain safe, efficient picking lanes.
- Operate various types of machinery as required, including an electric tugger and trailer
- Clean and tidy the work area as required
- Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and on time
- Product binning and put away as needed
- Ability to perform physical work during a 12-hour shift, including frequent lifting of 10-20 pounds repetitively and occasional lifting of up to 70 lbs.
- Experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment
- Solid work ethic and a positive attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Enjoy working in a team environment

- Basic computer skills
- Forklift experience
- Experience with building materials, lumber, or millwork

- Safety. Your safety is important to us. We want you to leave the day, the same way you came in. Continuous training with all warehouse personnel for both Safety and Operational excellence. Measure critical safety metrics on a monthly basis, identify potential issues and take appropriate actions.
- Surroundings. You’ll be working around moving machines – order pickers, forklifts, and mobile carts.
- Activity. Some activities may require operating machinery, constant walking, repetitive lifting, and using a handheld scanner.
- Temperature. Warehouse in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Noise level. It can get noisy provide hearing protection if you need it.
- Dress Code. Relaxed, with a few requirements regarding PPE. Metrie provides a show allowance, high visibility shirts and/or vests, eye protection, and gloves.
