The Painter sprays the surface of manufactured products, or working area with protective coatings such as paint, primer, enamel, and polyurethane according to Standard Work instructions.
Responsibilities include:- Mix selected coating liquid per the job traveler and drawing requirements.
- Fill paint liner/cup with desired material.
- Select the required part/monument to be painted.
- Adjust and spray required part/monument and coupon to specifications.
- Check finished part/monument to ensure it meets specifications.
- Knowledge of applying adhesives, primers and topcoats with HVLP (high-volume, low-pressure) spray equipment.
- Familiar with mixing ratios.
- Ability to comprehend and follow written specifications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced moving line/batch process environment.
- Three to six months of related paint experience and/or training.
Qualifications:
- Certification from technical school preferred.
While performing typical duties of this job, production employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment.
- Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature controlled.
- Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
- Exposure to hazardous equipment.
- Exposure to contaminants.
- Shared work spaces with other employees.
- Requires handing objects of up to 50 lbs.
- Lifting pushing, pulling, and bending.
- Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift, and overtime).
Required PPE provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee’s position and exposure. Below are typical PPE used on the production floor. Appropriate PPE must be worn by all employees when on the production floor.
- Ear Plugs - Earmuffs
- Full Face Shield
- Gloves (Latex, Rubber, Chemical Resistant, General Duty)
- Protective Apron
- Respirator
- Safety Glasses - Safety Goggles
