- Must be able to work 7-12 hour shifts and be on their feet for the majority of that time.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
- Stooping, bending, lifting, getting down on the floor and raising arms above head are constant required movements.
- Must be able and willing to use a computer very frequently throughout shift.
- Attention to detail and spelling is critical.
- Must possess a good sense of time management and critical thinking.
- Ability to learn and demonstrate effective and appropriate skills in regards to handling animal restraint.
- Ability to steady hands and administer injections, blood draws and nail trims.
- Follow all cleaning and sanitization protocols for the hospital.
- Ability to use hospital equipment safely and to standard, including but not limited to scales, thermometers, lab equipment and X Ray machines.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and is able to work with a team, as well as work by themselves.
- Contributes to positive change conversations and has a relentless drive to improve hospital operational performance and culture.
- With a positive attitude and a high degree of energy, excellent communication skills, can work effectively and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effectively communicates and manages workflow.
- Ability to effectively handle and defuse upset clients.
- Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspects of work in a veterinary hospital environment.
- Demonstrates professionalism in separating personal relationships with staff and making decisions that are in the best interest of the hospital.
- Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.
- Commitment to ongoing educational development and growth.
- Must enthusiastically demonstrate active listening, critical thinking, complex problem solving, time management, judgment and decision‑making skills.
- Job Type: Full‑time.
Pay: $18‑20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Expected hours: 38‑40 per week.
