A Cashier associate provides aggressive customer service by greeting customers as they enter the store and the timely, accurate processing of customer transactions. Responsibilities include scanning merchandise, processing sales, refunds, and exchanges, using the register to close transactions, and assisting with training, maintenance, and stocking. The cashier is often the first and last person a customer encounters; they must greet each customer upon entry and thank them upon exit.

• Understand and conduct yourself according to CNRG’s Mission and Values.
• Accurately process customer transactions in an orderly, timely, and friendly manner (credit cards, cash, checks, etc.).
• Greet customers as they enter and exit the store, creating a lasting impression of friendliness.
• Verify merchandise quantities, descriptions, and prices to ensure accuracy during transactions.
• Handle returns or exchanges and sales of merchandise.
• Answer incoming phone calls in a prompt, efficient, courteous manner.
• Receive payment on commercial accounts and on C.O.D. tickets, aid in credit application completion.
• Complete and file due tickets for customers needing a later pick‑up.
• Complete and file rain checks for out‑of‑stock items.
• Accurately count all tenders, prepare deposits, and organize the drawer for the following day.
• Utilize the credit and check verification system according to company policy and procedures.
• Manage the daily inflow and outflow of paperwork, including filing and storage, with accurate reports.
• Direct customers to items and call other team members for assistance.
• Protect company assets by responsible cash handling.
• Maintain a positive customer‑service attitude at all times.
• Follow all cashier procedures.
• Distinguish between similar products accurately.
• Help keep the store clean and organized.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by store management.

• Good oral and written communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and teammates.
• Customer‑service oriented and team‑oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Physical ability to climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs., handle large odd‑shaped items, and stock items in overhead areas.
• Accurate counting and distinction of money denominations.
• Knowledge of products and services.
• Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Entry‑level experience; no prior experience required but willingness to learn.

Pay range: $16.66 to $22.25 per hour.
