Overview
Liberty STEAM Charter, a network of tuition‑free, open‑enrollment public charter schools located in Sumter, South Carolina, serves nearly 1,000 scholars in grades K‑5 across three academy campuses. Authorized by the SC Public Charter School District in April 2020, LSC is the community’s first charter school and will serve scholars in grades K‑12 across four academies as the program expands. Location & Position DetailsInstructional staff positions are full‑time positions located in Sumter, South Carolina.
Responsibilities- Create a positive, achievement‑oriented, and structured learning environment that excites and invests scholars.
- Motivate scholars to realize high academic and behavioral standards.
- Build a classroom community by investing families in academic success and core values.
- Utilize data from interim assessments to drive instruction and intervention.
- Design and implement unit and lesson plans in collaboration with grade or subject teams.
- Hold all scholars accountable during transitions, meals, trips, and school events.
- Exemplify LSC’s core values in all interactions with scholars, families, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Academy Director, and grade‑level chairs to improve instructional, culture‑building, and leadership skills.
- Attend all professional development, team planning, and data analysis meetings.
- Participate enthusiastically in structured and informal learning and development opportunities.
- Mastery of pedagogy and content knowledge, evidenced by measurable success from a prior role.
- Support for low‑level readers.
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
- High level of personal organization and planning.

- Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 from a competitive college or university;
Master’s degree preferred. - South Carolina certification in multi‑categorical special education, elementary, or middle level education. Valid out‑of‑state certification is also acceptable.
