TVI - Ladson, South Carolina

Make a meaningful impact as an Itinerant Teacher for the Visually Impaired with a leading school district near Ladson, SC. This contract role provides an excellent opportunity to work with students across multiple locations, empowering them to achieve their fullest potential. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through June 4th, 2027, with a commitment of 35 hours per week.

Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina teaching certificate with a Visual Impairment (VI) Endorsement
• Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in school settings is desirable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating with students, families, and educational teams
• Ability and willingness to travel to various schools within the district as an itinerant educator
• Flexible and adaptive approach to meet diverse student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, fostering academic growth and independence
• Adapt general education curriculum and materials for accessibility using appropriate techniques and technology
• Conduct functional vision assessments and collaborate on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Offer guidance and training to classroom teachers and staff on effective practices and accommodations
• Serve as a resource for families, ensuring open communication and advocacy for student success
• Maintain accurate documentation on student progress and services delivered
• Travel between assigned schools to deliver both direct and consultative services
