QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum ofa Master's degree andvalid South Carolina educator certification in Elementary School Counseling.
Location: Kingsbury Elementary School
Grade Span: School Counselor will work with Pre-K - 5thgrade students.
Reporting: Building Level Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Workswith students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom.
• Guidesin the decision making processes concerning academics and personal/social development.
• Helps students evaluate their interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personal characteristics for educational planning.
• Consults with outside resources/agencies to maximize and coordinate the use of available services.
• Consults with parents regarding their children, school related issues, and meetings for special purposes.
• Assists students in developing self-confidence and a positive self-concept.
• Assists students in strengthening interpersonal skills.
• Attends staff, professional and inter-agency meetings.
• Confers with teachers and parents whenever necessary.
• Participates in regular staff meetings and ongoing trainings.
