Assistant Professor of Psychology. The University of South Carolina Sumter invites qualified candidates to apply for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Psychology position with an anticipated starting date of August 16, 2027. An earned doctorate in psychology is required by the beginning date of employment, including credentials necessary for departmental approval to teach introductory and upper-level psychology courses in both traditional and online settings as needed.
The successful applicant must have at least one academic year of full-time teaching experience at the university level as instructor of record by the time of appointment. A demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching is required. Area of specialization is open, but the successful applicant will be prepared to teach psychology at the introductory level. The ability to teach developmental psychology and/or research methods is also a plus.
The normal teaching load will be twelve credit hours per semester. Applicants must also demonstrate a strong commitment to establishing and maintaining professional activity in scholarship and service, as well as student advising, mentoring and participation on campus committees. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
