We are looking for a Process/Equipment Engineer to optimize and modernize manufacturing processes and equipment. The role will reduce costs, improve efficiency and ensure quality compliance.
Job Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment, or modify existing ones, to improve product quality, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Create change controls for equipment and new installations.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and cross‑functional teams to transfer new products from development to production.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Perform equipment qualifications (IQ, OQ, PQ) and process validations to ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO).
- Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel on process‑related issues and new equipment operation.
- Analyze process data and metrics to identify trends, predict potential issues, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial) or related technical field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 2–5 years of process engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles, process control, and statistical analysis tools.
- Proficiency with data analysis software (Minitab, JMP) and CAD tools.
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma; certification (Green Belt/Black Belt) is a plus.
- Familiarity with GMP and regulatory requirements (21 CFR 820, ISO 13485).
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- BD is a smoke‑free campus; smoking and vaping are prohibited.
- Production floor requires non‑slip, steel‑toe shoes and no jewelry or dermals.
- Full‑time in‑office presence (4 days per week) required; remote roles noted separately.
- At least 4 days in‑office for most roles; remote or field‑based arrangements will be specified.
- Vaccination against COVID‑19 may be required; accommodations considered per policy.
