Cost Manager
BD (Tissuemed Ltd) invites application for the Cost Manager role located in Sumter, SC. The position manages the full plant P&L at the Sumter facility, providing financial support to Finance and Operations leaders, establishing and achieving financial objectives, and formulating and executing operations strategies.
Job Description SummaryThe role maintains accounting and reporting procedures that deliver accurate product costs and manufacturing performance reporting. It also has functional accountability to the Global Business Services organization, striving to improve and standardize finance processes company-wide.
Duties & Responsibilities- Support the Operations staff in managing financials for annual budget, quarterly projections, and monthly actuals, including material variances, labor & indirect expenses, inventory, and capital.
- Prepare, analyze, and report monthly and annual financials to facility, division, and corporate management.
- Own the fixed and variable operating budget for the facility end-to-end.
- Perform monthly balance sheet review and reconciliation.
- Assist and challenge teams with cost improvement initiatives, team goals, and monthly forecasts.
- Manage both internal and external facility audits.
- Review, challenge, monitor, and support control procedures.
- Manage and report results of annual physical inventory.
- Drive operational improvements, maintain and enhance processes and controls, and take ownership of new processes where applicable.
- Document relevant information with critical financial roles of the plant.
- Track record of managing increasing levels of responsibility, successful senior‑level business partnering, and leading cross‑functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to improve controls and influence decisions through accounting knowledge and data‑driven financial analysis.
- Cost Accounting, General Accounting, and Finance knowledge required.
- Advanced Excel skills vital.
- ERP experience necessary; SAP experience highly preferred.
- Audit experience preferred.
- Background in lean manufacturing/six sigma.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related field.
- 5+ years of relevant professional accounting and/or finance experience in a manufacturing environment, including product costing, manufacturing variances, and inventory control.
- Proven track record in leading and serving as an effective team member in a large organization.
- CPA/CMA/MBA advantageous.
- Smoke‑free campus with strict policies against smoking and electronic tobacco devices.
- Dermals and jewelry not permitted on the production floor; any dermal must be covered.
- Steel Toe or non‑slip footwear required on the production floor.
