Job Description
Summary:
Supports high quality Point of Care Testing (POCT) at the point of service. Develops POCT SOPs and ensures regulatory compliance, trains personnel and assesses competency. Performs quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting, evaluations, and correlation of POCT instrumentation. Reviews and evaluates POCT data and patient results for acceptability; resolves aberrant data and results; communicates effectively and models standards of behavior. Performs additional duties as required.
Job Description: Performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures. Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures. Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment, performs quality control and assurance procedures, records lab results in the specified system, and follows all required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.
Minimum
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP). If not certified, must be registry eligible and enroll to take the certification exam during the first year of employment.
