Job Description:
Serves as a senior-level satellite communications subject matter expert responsible for advanced installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and sustainment of complex SATCOM systems. Provides technical leadership and oversight for mission-critical communications infrastructure.
- Lead the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced satellite communications systems supporting voice, video, RF, and data networks.
- Design, configure, and optimize SATCOM solutions in accordance with mission and task-order requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues involving satellite terminals, modems, and RF systems.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight to junior technicians.
- Exercise independent judgment in resolving system-level issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Support coordination with vendors, engineers, and government stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all security, safety, and operational standards.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and reporting for systems and activities.

Certifications
- Must meet certification requirements specified in the applicable SPIN-C or individual task order.
General Experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience supporting installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of communications systems. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and understand interrelationships of communications circuits and systems.
- Experience providing technical leadership and supervision.
Specialized Experience
- Expert‑level experience with DSCS or commercial satellite terminals, including:
- X‑, C‑, Ka‑, Ku‑band and Tri‑band satellite terminals
- FDMA, TDMA, and IP‑based satellite modems

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $37.40 – $50.60. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
