The Machinist II position requires a high level of individual proficiency that requires the individual to set up and operate machines, use tooling necessary to make or repair parts. Five year's experience as a machinist. Use mechanisms, tools, or machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout machining procedures. Ability to weld all materials, and run all machines/equipment in the shop.

Create value through completing work orders on time; ability to cross-train others to increase shop capabilities.

• Studies specifications, such as blueprint, sketch, or description of part to be replaced, and plans sequence of operations.
• Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
• Sets up and operates lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders, drill press and other machining equipment to machine parts to specifications, and verifies conformance of part to specifications using measuring instruments.
• Positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable with such devices as vises, V-blocks and plates and uses hand tools to fit and assemble parts to assemblies or mechanisms.
• Verifies dimensions and alignment with measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks.
• May operate mechanism or machine, observe operation, or test it with inspection equipment to diagnose malfunction of machine or to test repaired machine.
• Assists with preventive maintenance on equipment as specified or as required to ensure a smooth start up and operation.
• Required to perform welding on all materials and soldering as needed.
• Observes all safety and environmental procedures, getting all seven engagement points, and QSRs.

• High School Diploma or GED required or in lieu of education, adequate experience will be accepted.
• 2 - 3 years experience as a machinist.

• False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and Jewelry is not allowed on the production floor including dermals. Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor.
• Shoes are required to be Steel Toe and non-slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
