Job SummaryThe Line Apprentice position supports the operations process in providing and maintaining service to new and existing customers by learning a working knowledge of computer system, tools, equipment, and material. Employees in the Line Apprentice position will be learning the day-to-day operations and specifications of the distribution system. In addition to normal work, employees in the Line Apprentice position must be available to be on‑call with a more experienced person as required and to work all hours as needed, day or night, weekends or holidays, to perform work required during planned outages or emergency situations.
Employees in the Line Apprentice position must learn to perform all duties in a safe manner and adhere to all Company safety rules and procedures.
Hourly Pay Rate: $28.42

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
- Installs and repairs electrical equipment such as street lighting and load control devices.
- Constructs overhead and underground distribution lines based on engineering specifications, including setting poles, pulling cable, setting transformers, etc.
- Installs equipment such as transformers, capacitors, regulators, load control devices, meters, street lights, safe lights, etc.
- Maintains and repairs equipment; also performs preventative maintenance using test equipment such as volt and amp meters to measure the performance of equipment.
- Responds to trouble calls when equipment fails and/or electrical service is interrupted, and
- Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
- Shift work, overtime, weekend work.
- Work environment ranges from indoors to outside in varying degrees of heat and cold weather conditions.
- Emergency situations may require working at night and in inclement weather.
- Subject to confined spaces (e.g., manholes, vaults, etc.).
- Subject to periodic call‑out duty.
- Frequent travel.
- Field Mobility Classification – work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. Field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Certificate from Lineman's Training School.
- Certificate from Technical School Line program.
- Military experience.
- Experience in the electric utility industry.
