The University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) is seeking a motivated, dependable, and skilled Housing Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. WhatYou'll Do
- Performing preventive maintenance and repairs throughout university housing facilities.
- Troubleshooting and repairing residential appliances, including washers, dryers, refrigerators, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
- Performing plumbing repairs, including toilets, sinks, shower fixtures, faucets, and drains.
- Completing general maintenance work in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting, and minor renovations.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests through the university's computerized work order system.
- Assisting with room renovations, installations, and facility improvement projects.
- Inspecting housing facilities to identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues.
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and supplies needed to perform daily responsibilities safely and efficiently.
- Working independently or as part of a collaborative facilities team to deliver exceptional service to students and campus partners.
- Helping maintain the overall appearance, safety, and operational readiness of university housing facilities and surrounding grounds.
- Has experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or one or more skilled trades.
- Possesses working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, and general maintenance.
- Enjoys troubleshooting problems and finding practical solutions.
- Takes pride in providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Is committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming campus environment.
