Position Overview

Banner Boswell Medical Center (in Sun City) is seeking Certified Patient Care Assistants as CCO Resource Floats. Our floor serves 46 private beds, participating in oncology as well as general telemetry and medical patient care. As a team, we cover the entire hospital, providing compassionate, evidence‑based care to patients on the 4th floor and beyond.

Shift Details
  • Full‑Time Night Shift Available (FT 3‑12 hour shift)
  • Shift Hours can be from (Nights) 7:30 pm – 7 am
  • You can utilize our self‑scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. There are no set days you can be scheduled each week.
  • You can know your shift a month in advance generally.
  • Varied Shifts – days, nights, and weekends may be scheduled.
  • Weekend Rotations are required – every other weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Rotating Holidays Required – 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year.
  • Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%‑Night Shift differential when applicable

Position Summary

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contributes to the overall patient plan of care. Responsibly collects patient data, documents it in the medical records, and performs a variety of unit support functions that contribute to the efficient operation of the nursing unit and department.

Core Functions
  • Provides assistance with activities of daily living, basic hygiene needs, mobility, and nutritional intake as needed.
  • Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output, and other delegated measurements. Documents all objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Assists with specimen transportation.
  • Recognizes and reports abnormalities or changes in patient health status to a licensed professional. Promotes continuity of care by accurately communicating patient status to other caregivers.
  • Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, following state scope of practice and demonstrated competencies. This includes blood draws, Foley catheter removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring. Provides supplies and support for unit‑specific procedures.
  • Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective communication throughout the department. Participates in resolving customer problems or collecting data for follow‑up.
  • Maintains complete patient records, including admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures charting forms are scanned or filed and labeled as needed.
  • Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies; completes requisition forms when supplies need ordering; reconciles orders upon delivery; monitors equipment such as patient  and laptops.
  • Assists with transporting patients, including pre‑operative and immediate post‑operative patients to the critical care unit. Participates in OR room turnover.
  • Works under supervision within the assigned unit only. Operates in a fast‑paced, sometimes stressful environment while maintaining strong customer service focus. Interacts with staff at all levels, patients, families, and physicians.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
    • Current BLS certification is required.
    • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice is required for new hires and transfers.
    • Must possess excellent organizational skills, effective human relations, and communication skills.
