Summary

We are seeking dedicated and adaptable individuals to fill the position of Substitute Teacher. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity in the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher. Your responsibilities will include following lesson plans, managing the classroom environment, and ensuring that students continue to learn effectively in the absence of their regular teacher.

Starting pay is $181 per 8 hour day.

Summary

We are seeking dedicated and adaptable individuals to fill the position of Substitute Teacher. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity in the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher. Your responsibilities will include following lesson plans, managing the classroom environment, and ensuring that students continue to learn effectively in the absence of their regular teacher.

Substitutes must be able to commit to working an average of at least 5 days per month to remain active in the system. Our district uses Absence Management (Aesop) for filling absences.

DPI allows you to apply and hold a Three Year Permit Substitutes as long as the following requirements are fulfilled:

• Must have an Associates Degree or higher and must be willing to complete and provide proof of completion of our District provided Substitute Teacher Training Program.

OR

• Be enrolled in Education Prep program, have completed completed enough credits to achived junior status and have compelted 15 hours of classroom oberservation.

Responsibilities

• Implement Lesson Plans:
  Follow the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, ensuring that the curriculum is covered and educational objectives are met.
• Maintain Classroom Order:
  Manage the classroom environment by enforcing school and class rules, maintaining discipline, and resolving conflicts among students when necessary.
• Deliver Instruction:
  Present instructional materials, facilitate learning activities, and provide explanations to ensure that students understand the material being covered
• Assess Student Progress:
  Monitor student behavior and academic performance, provide feedback, and report any concerns or issues to the appropriate school personnel.
• Support Student Learning:
  Assist students with assignments, answer questions, and provide guidance to promote student understanding and success.
• Ensure Safety:
  Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, adhering to school safety protocols and procedures at all times.
• Communicate with Staff:
  Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other staff members to ensure continuity in the educational process and address any issues that arise during the absence of the regular teacher.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Teaching certificate or substitute teacher certification/license required (if applicable in your area).
• Previous experience working with children or in educational settings preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and instructional styles.
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Schedule

This is a part-time, on-call position with flexible scheduling. Substitute Teachers may be called upon to work on short notice, depending on the needs of the school.
