We are currently seeking a Support Tech - Die Cast to join our team on the 1st shift. If you’re dependable, driven, and ready to grow within a dynamic, team-oriented environment, MKC is the place for you.

Support Technicians play a critical leadership role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-performing work cells. They are directly involved in the setup, operation, and maintenance of production dies and ancillary equipment for both automated and manual die-casting machines. In addition to operational responsibilities, Support Technicians help develop and train Die Cast Operators to support quality and productivity goals.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, ensuring all safety devices and guarding are in place and functioning.

Lead and support continuous improvement efforts, including 5S initiatives and contamination prevention.

Set up all equipment required to support production in the assigned work cells.

Utilize shot trace systems and understand process parameters (e.g., pressure profiles, velocity, switch-over points)

Perform and monitor TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities; train operators on TPM and verify compliance with maintenance schedules.

Accurately complete all required production documentation, including quality audits, process check sheets, and TPM logs.

Operate die-cast machines and related equipment such as auto ladles, robots, trim presses, and reciprocators to meet production goals.

Inspect and gauge castings to ensure dimensional and visual quality standards are met.

Provide hands-on training, guidance, and technical support to new hires, temporary workers, and fellow team members.

Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving related to quality, productivity, and equipment performance.

Perform additional duties and cross-functional support as assigned

Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving equipment

Regular overtime may be required, including weekends

Must be able to stand for extended periods and move throughout the facility

Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 40 lbs

Occasional bending, reaching, and stooping

Visual acuity required for quality inspection and machine monitoring

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Proficiency with basic math, including fractions and metric/imperial conversions

Experience in understanding and operating machine controls

Successful completion of MKC’s Die Cast Operator and Support Tech training programs

Ability to read blueprints, dimension reports, and use precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, electronic indicators, etc.)

Demonstrated leadership and training abilities

Must complete MKC’s Forklift and Crane Certification
