Manufacturing Engineer

Job DetailsDescription: Provide technical support and leadership to CNC operations to meet production goals. Support managers and engineers on projects as needed.
Essential Functions- Diagnose and solve process, tooling, and equipment issues related to machining, automation, tooling, and gauging.
- Review CMM layouts and adjust CNC offsets to maintain process capability.
- Read blueprints and understand GD&T.
- Document issues and resolutions to ensure clear communication across shifts.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Support production activities such as material handling, machine operation, inspection, and gauging.
- Implement error-proofing in processes.
- Program CNC machines, including lathes, vertical, and horizontal mills, up to 5 axes, using G and M codes.
- Create operator and setup instructions.
- Train operators and setup personnel.
- Work independently and manage small projects.
- Complete special assignments as directed by management.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Heavy production environment with noise and heat. Exposure to moving machinery while troubleshooting. Minimum 40 hours/week with possible overtime on weekdays and weekends.
Physical DemandsMust be able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks with bending, lifting, reaching, and twisting. Visual acuity required for quality inspection.
Qualifications- Associate degree in Machine Tool Techniques, CNC Technician Certificate, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with high-volume CNC machining of aluminum parts.
- Strong math skills and ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
- Knowledge of GD&T and process capability.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machines, fixtures, and cutting tools.
- Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with CAD, CAM, and CNC programming is a plus.
