HGV Mechanic

Our client, based in Redditch, is seeking a motivated HGV Mechanic to join their team working on a fleet of road sweepers. No previous experience with sweepers is required, as full training will be provided for the right candidate. This position is perfect for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a practical, hands-on approach to mechanical work.

Overview Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing on a fleet of road sweepers to ensure vehicles remain in safe and reliable working condition.

Diagnose mechanical and technical issues, assisting with repairs under the guidance of experienced team members as training is provided. Perform basic electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical tasks, gradually developing skills specific to sweeper systems and components. Complete required paperwork, service records, and defect reports accurately and in a timely manner. Work collaboratively with the workshop team to prioritise workloads, support breakdowns, and maintain a clean and organised working environment.

Requirements ?

Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills. Mechanical aptitude with experience in HGV or vehicle maintenance (experience with sweepers is not required). Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a workshop environment. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Reliable, punctual, and motivated to develop a long-term career in vehicle maintenance.
