As a Clerical Officer Apprentice, you will be paid Annex 21
* which is a NHS training wage and be supported to complete a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship standard, you will work closely within a team of administrative staff, including medical secretaries and other support staff, providing a wide range of administrative duties to support the Radiology Department. You will be involved in supporting our reception, appointments processes and general enquiries, providing excellent and timely administrative services to our patients.

This is a cross-site Apprenticeship for the Radiology Departments at Sunderland Royal Hospital and South Tyneside District Hospital. You may be expected to work at either hospital site as required.
You will deal with patients and staff internal and external to the Trust and requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a professional, friendly andapproachable manner.
You should be educated to GCSE GradeC / 4 or above in English Language and Maths, or equivalent literacy and numeracyskills. You should have effective ITskills as all work is undertaken using a variety of software packages. Previous use of a healthcare informationsupport system would also therefore be advantageous. Previous recent administrative experience with a focus on customer care is essential.
The Radiology Department is open seven daysper week, 24 hours per day.
Administrative staff work across seven days, working from 8.00 a.m. to7.30 p.m., Monday to Friday, plus weekends and bank holidays. You will be expected to work across these parameters of service provision as part of your normal working week.
